In short, Fullstory flat out works out of the box in the way you would expect it to work, and it works very well. The barrier to actionably working with your data is super low, both from an integration and from a learning how to use the tool standpoint. While it is highly customizable, it provides an out of the box experience which can get you 80-90% of the way there with fundamental analysis of user behavior data. I have no large items I dislike about Fullstroy. If I were to come up with examples, I would have to pick feature-level gripes such as not being able to change the date granularity of all the charts on a Dashboard with one filter, or not having custom properties separated into separate columns in a data export. Fullstory has become an essential tool for our team at Autodesk, spanning Product Managers, Designers, Analysts, and Engineers. It's been particularly impactful in diagnosing customer issues during new product launches, allowing us to 'walk in our customers' shoes.' The ability to see user sessions firsthand has significantly improved our understanding of friction points and identified key areas for improvement. We've quickly pinpointed and addressed issues, leading to smoother user experiences. Additionally, we're incredibly fortunate to have exceptional support from our enablement team of Jasmine and Liz. Highly recommend Fullstory for anyone looking to gain deep insights into user behavior and optimize their digital experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It would be great if FullStory had a chrome plug-in that allowed for heatmap visualizations directly our site without having to dive into the tool. We had this with the prior vendor we worked with. It is also fairly costly to track all of our site sessions with FullStory, so we settled on only 30% coverage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Fullstory session replay is great and better than many alternatives we considered. In addition to web, native mobile app replay is good, which many competitors lack. We also find the segments, metrics, and funnels useful. Most of our organization uses session replay frequently: product teams, engineering teams, customer service, fraud, and compliance. All the features around replay are solid like redaction, note/share, heat map, etc. And it's valuable to have a top-tier session replay tool integrated with product analytics.
It's easy to search sessions and inspect them to find events/actions to instrument. That also makes it easy to define events within the platform for ad-hoc needs, but we've found we need to instrument ourselves for important tracking/reporting. We even set up alerts on FullStory metrics to look for errors from the customer perspective.
We've been a customer for multiple years, and the FullStory account and support teams are helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The product analytics charting/metrics are good, but other tools are more dynamic here (multiple metrics, tables of metrics, editing charts, etc.). FullStory continues to add these features.
It's expensive, but at this point, the cost vs. value is acceptable.
It's not as broad as some other product tools (with technical monitoring, experimentation, feature flagging, etc.). FullStory's strength is session replay, and it's great at that. As they continue to add capabilities, we will continue to compare the value of best-of-breed session replay and their product analytics with the value of having sessions integrated with experiments, feature flags, event streaming, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Very helpful in showing what customers have done in our application and when. We use it frequently in our support, and it's very easy to see their actions to drill down the root cause. I also love the logs it provides, as they're helpful for Jira bug tickets. Having the ability to choose the playback speed as well as skipping activity toggled on and off is amazing, as well! I would like to be able to see the documents the customers are seeing within FS since we're able to log into the cutsomer organizations to see them anyway - it would be nice to just be able to review it during the FS videos.
I would like to see timezones within the times under the videos so we know exactly when the customer was doing their activities.
I would also like to be able to set how many seconds back to rewind. 7 seconds seems a bit arbitrary, and I'd love to configure anything from 1 to 60 seconds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The most helpful thing about Fullstory is it enables me to view user sessions for our platform which speeds up the troubleshooting and to ensure we're not missing anything.
For the tech support end, being able to see the sessions eliminates unnecessary back and forth with clients too! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It would be easier to use if the interface was more user friendly and had all the sessions for various categorized by day/time in the dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Fullstory is great in understanding behavioural triggers & insights to support product optimisation. The data and insight provided through segments and session views is invaluable. As a designer, I can also look at things like heatmaps and rage clicks to see pain points that help us optimise our user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The implementation requires engineering effort, if the product or pages are regularly updated, as we do with a lot of legacy code, then it needs to be built into workflows across all teams to ensure its effectiveness. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
FullStory has been a game-changer for us. The platform is powerful, but what really sets it apart is the support. Working with Liz, Jill and the team has been fantastic—they truly feel like partners, not just vendors. Their insights and dedication have made a huge impact. There's a bit of a learning curve, but the payoff makes it more than worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to set up some very deep funnels and segments that give us a very intimate view of issues our users have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The huge amount of tracked events it is actually spending from its quota. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Fullstory is super easy to use, it offers real time data which is super beneficial for the industry I work in, and the fact that we can see where users get stuck via recordings in real time as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the lack of chart differences available to users, and that we can't rename data within a particular event happening. At the moment, backdated abbreviated datapoints are only understandable for my manager and I only. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not only do you get full video playback of what users do with all the searching and filtering tools you would want, but you also get a full suite of query tools to roll up that qual data into quantitative dashboards to see system health at a glance. It's become a core part of our business, and certainly our design and product function, mainly because of how easy it is to use (no easy feat given its complexity); getting the team to adopt it has been a cinch.
What's most impressive though is how fast it is while being so powerful. editing queries is easy because you can see results update in real time as you zero in on what you're looking for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not a lot honestly. If pressed, I would say that as we get into the more advanced functionality, fullstory does ask you to put in the work to configure it. while it has a lot of tools to make this clear, giving fullstory an understanding of your site map and relevant company specific metadata is key.
